CCBF has closed our informational hotline at this time, and we are not accepting any new requests for help paying bond. Despite the closure of our hotline, we are continuing to work on existing requests and inquiries. We apologize for the inconvenience and uncertainty this may cause. We suggest you follow-up with your attorney for any questions you may have about your case.
As of September 18, 2023, money bond is abolished in Illinois as part of the full implementation of the Pretrial Fairness Act. No new money bonds will be given in Cook County or any county in Illinois. There will be a period of transition in the coming months for people incarcerated pretrial with existing money bonds. CCBF will be paying bonds through the end of this year on a limited basis. We will also be monitoring the implementation of the Pretrial Fairness Act with our partners in the Coalition to End Money Bond and the Illinois Network for Pretrial Justice. Our work in advocacy and post-release support will also be ongoing as we continue to accompany community members who are still fighting cases. We will share updates as we learn more. Feel free to reach out to us if you have any other inquiries that are not regarding bond assistance.
