Earlier this month, Chicago Community Bond Fund kicked off a series of Instagram takeovers by movement partners who inspire us to keep dreaming and fighting. Up first was our friends at Chicago Torture Justice Center! Their team took over CCBF’s Instagram account between September 5 – 11, 2023.

We got some behind-the-scenes peeks at their transformative work with survivors of police violence. Throughout the week, CTJC:

• Hosted a Know Your Rights session on IG live for police encounters
• Introduced thousands of IG users to politicized healing 
• Gave a tour of their Peer Entry program that has served more than 1,734 community members
• And provided much-needed history about the organizing that got CCTJC where they are now
