CCBF’s Second Anniversary Celebration!
Come celebrate CCBF’s second birthday and all the progress being made toward ending money bond and pretrial incarceration in Cook County! Since December 2015, CCBF has worked with families and partner organizations to free more than 100 people from Cook County Jail and house arrest, posting more than $550,000. We have also collaborated with others to move local practices away from the use of money bond. Since General Order 18.8A went into effect on September 18th, the population of Cook County Jail has dropped by more than 800 people!
On Saturday, November 11th, we will celebrate with an evening of food, music, dancing, drinks, and performances by Malcolm London, Ethos, Devoureaux KingDetro Wolf, remarks by Mariame Kaba, and DJing by Daniel Klissinger of AirGo, all emcee’d by Damon Williams of the #LetUsBreathe Collective!
