Activist Jared Steverson Arrested In Court
This past Friday, Chicago Black Lives Matter activist Jared Steverson was arrested in court; he was there for his first appearance following the large July 9th protests for Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. CPD decided to upcharged Jared from his original misdemeanor battery charge to a felony aggravated battery charge. He appeared in bond court on Saturday, August 27th, and was given a $10,000 D-Bond. CCBF posted the $1,000 needed to secure his release that afternoon, and Jared was released that same night without being processed into Cook County Jail. This was only possible because of your support. Thank you.
